Joy’s Homemade Bagels

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour⠀

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour⠀

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder ⠀

  • 1 1/2 cups (reduced-fat or 2%) plain Greek yogurt⠀

  • 2 tablespoons Swerve sweetener (or honey)⠀

  • 2 tablespoons Everything Bagel Seasoning ⠀

  • Cooking spray

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 425°.

  2. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and coat with cooking spray.

  3. Add flour and baking powder and stir to combine.⠀

  4. Add yogurt, gently stirring until dough forms. Knead dough with your hands in the bowl for 1 to 2 minutes until all the dry ingredients are incorporated.

  5. Form dough into a ball. Then, cut into six equal pieces. Roll one piece into a rope about 6 inches long and pinch together to form a bagel shape. Place on baking sheet when finished.

  6. Spray the tops of the bagels with cooking spray and sprinkle evenly with everything bagel seasoning.

  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes. Let cool slightly. Then store in an airtight container.⠀

⠀+ VARIATIONS +

Add raisins & cinnamon instead of Everything Bagel Seasoning.⠀

Omit spices and make them plain!⠀

Add a cooked egg, cheese, and ham for a breakfast bagel sandwich!
